We work to improve Foundational Literacy and Numeracy of children between the ages of 3 to 18 years via Preschools and a dedicated FLN Program for Class 1 to 4. To improve FLN we work at the community level as well as at Schools via School Partnership Program.
Door Step School works directly within communities because the neighbourhood is a child’s first learning environment. Our programmes are built around time, place and pace ensuring learning happens when, where, and how it suits the child’s realities.
Young children in informal settlements are at high risk of entering labour early or missing schooling entirely. The Balwadi Programme prepares them for formal education through activities that build physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development.
First-generation learners often struggle with academic expectations, leading to frustration and drop-out. Study Classes provide structured support before or after school using specially developed toolkits.
Complemented by Mobile Libraries that deliver age-appropriate books to neighbourhoods regularly.

Through School partnership programs targeted intervention to improve FLN of children in Municipal Schools prepares children entering Grade 1 to cope with the transition to formal schooling.

Builds confidence, listening skills and familiarity with classroom structure.
DSS deputes it’s teacher at Schools who teacher children literacy and numeracy at Class 1 and 2 building a strong foundation for future success.
Children struggling academically are referred by teachers for additional support. The children who need remedial classes are given additional dedicated – need based learning by teacher. The teacher ensures the learning need is addressed for each child as we believe each child is unique. Once the child comes at par with others via learning assessments, the child moves on with it’s peers. The remedial program is unique in it’s ‘approach’ where we aspire to bring each child at
