On June 28, 2013 Reading mela was organized in Colaba Municipal School mainly for primary school children. Aim was to get every child through 6 activities i.e. 6 stalls. On completion of each activity, the child was given a crayon which he could put in the bag and take home. This involved imparting a sense of achievement to the children. At one point in time, only 5 students were directed to a particular stall, and the teacher student ratio was 1:2:5.
The student was asked his standard, given an activity expected for that level- but if he/she couldn’t do that- the activity was made harder/simpler as required.
