School Transport

Overview

Making provisions for school transport for children is an essential service, particularly in Pune which is known for its heavy and undisciplined traffic. Transport is needed to bring children to the Municipal schools as well as for collecting them from different construction sites to one location for conducting classes. Transport also becomes a necessity when the number of children at a particular location is rather small and we can save resources by transporting them to a class running nearby. Currently we provide school transport to about 1000 children.

Facilities

Currently we have a Tempo Traveler, a Tata Winger, the school-on-wheels bus and one van as school transport. We also have two PMPML  (Pune Municipal Transport) buses specially running as school buses. Additionally, we have hired five auto-rickshaws which are the most common form of school transport in Pune.
